Willem Harbers – Kunstadvies Hanneke Janssen

The intricate industrial forms refer to movement or production. Harbers’ fascination with production processes, the extraction of raw materials, and the processing of materials is clearly visible, yet nowhere do proverbial chips fly. And that seems to be exactly the artist’s intention.

His “machines” stand proudly shining, but do not move. It is industrial design that fascinates and inspires Harbers. One might even imagine that it is precisely his own machines that he needs to process the marble for his sculptures. An idea through which he inextricably connects nature, his machines, and the viewer.
