The lemniscate is the symbol of infinity. There is no beginning and no end.
When we use the Lemniscate as a drawing (linear), we see two poles equally spaced with a circular path intersecting in the middle.
The Lemniscate implies that life, learning and understanding is infinite and continues to flow into each other in an eternal movement.
It is about the interaction of opposing forces and refers to the law of cause and effect.
The sculpture is composed of 48 identical (!) trapezoid-shaped blocks. The way these blocks are combined causes the beam to make a semi-circular shape or twist.
Walking around the sculpture reveals different shapes, from an 8-shaped loop to a narrow open oval shape.
