Pet van de Luijtgaarden (b. 1975) is an artist, visual artist and photographer. He is a collector of collections because he is fascinated by the amount of stuff we humans collect around us. Pet incorporates the “stuff” into installations and performances to convey his fascination to the public.
In 2011, for example, Pet was able to acquire a large collection of dildos. He incorporated the dildos into his large installation ‘dildocactus’. This installation was the eye catcher during the opening exhibition ‘New Life’ of Museum IJsselstein in 2012.
Pets work has been shown in various museums. Examples include Kunsthal Rotterdam (Solo), Museum Kroller Muller and Museum MIJ (solo).
