The Sluijtersprijs is a biyearly prize granted by Stichting Kunst aan de Dijk in Kortenhoef, and this year it will be awarded for the seventh time. This prize is for young talent in painting. The winner of this edition will get a solo presentation during KunstRAI 2026. This year’s winner is Eliane Geurts.
Geurt’s work is known for her research about border areas, in which the making process is visible in her paintings. Her paintings give a certain rhythm that gives the feeling of being on the move. Spaciousness is therefore an important role in her work. Oil and acrylic naturally repel each other, which creates confrontation, coincidence, and tension in her work. This asks the viewer to continuously ask what can be observed in her paintings.
