Birdland

In the spring of 2025, Birdland will be published by 99 Uitgevers/Publishers in Haarlem, a book centred on artists’ fascination with birds. Birdland explores not only the appearance and allure of birds but also delves into how artists worldwide and across centuries have been inspired by these creatures and depicted them in their work. The book will be unveiled for the first time at KunstRAI, accompanied by an exhibition as part of a backstage presentation. The exhibition, curated by Paul Knolle—an expert on birds and former curator at Rijksmuseum Twenthe—will feature exceptional loans from private collections as well as works for sale by prominent, often contemporary, artists.
